I remember the night like yesterday, stood in the warm evening air, watching the colour in the sky change almost an hour after the sun had set. Only the sound of wetland birds could be heard as my surroundings stood motionless.

The tide soon retreats back out of the bay revealing the marsh for yet another day. The sun slowly drops behind the bay while you sit in the dunes amongst the grasses.

The candy floss like clouds pass over head in the powder blue sky, as you meander along the warm sand before the morning sun heats up.

It’s from here that Holkham beach opens up into a vast expanse of land that takes the eye well out into the horizon. A walk perfect for a day like today.

The vista from Gun Hill still takes my breath away. Sat on the highest point watching the day change to dusk, just the sound of the birds returning to roost for the night for company.

It’s been a strange morning, like no other Easter Sunday. With the storm well gone but winter still in the air, the bay changes so quickly as the atmosphere warms, giving the residues of the storm only moments to last.
